Accordingly, in 1894, McKay and his siblings packed a wagon with supplies and headed for the University of Utah. He felt that his travels brought “a keener realization on the part of members of the Church that they are not detached entities but are in reality part of the Church as a whole.”41 For the first time the Church was truly becoming global.
